Crafts

I have been finding and thinking up new crafts. I am still doing fun things, but I tend to forget taking pics and so I don't post about it... but I thought I would show you four of the new things I have done to help out with organizing or just for fun.

First: Carl and I are in the process of making Miles an interactive latch board. It is going to have these wooden shaped doors that he can unlatch and lift up to see pictures of us! Stay tuned for the finished product soon.

Second: I decided to use my already present sconces to hold my necklesses. That way I can actually see what I have and can pick out something that matches what I am wearing. So far I have put on jewelry almost everyday because I can see it sitting there.

Third: Carl and I bought a shadow box and drilled a hole in the top, put a picture of somewhere we would like to vacation, and are already saving up for our next big vacation to..... Disneyland!!! I am hoping that seeing the picture of the castle will make us WANT to save.

Fourth: I decided we needed more counter space so we got rid of our fruit basket and instead went to target, bought $2 baskets, and hung them on the wall. They look really good and give me a ton more counter space. I love it! (the pan Carl got for his birthday and he liked it so much he decided it needed it's own space on the wall to keep it safe from scratches, so it's on our wall too).

Friday Update

AAA... I can't believe it is already Friday again.. it seems to come so quickly! We are almost to 7 months. Only a few days to go... I can't believe I almost have a 7 month old... where is time going? Thank goodness I am a stay at home mom and get to be with Miles all the time :)

Well, here's what's new:
1. Miles crawled last night.. Carl was on the computer and Miles forward crawled to it all by himself. I guess he just needs a great motivator to really go forward.
2. He crawled 2 knees forward today at our play group.
3. Miles has a mysterious rash that has been there for about a month and feels dry. It is sometimes red or sometimes fleshy colored. I think it might be eczema. I will ask the nurse about it on Monday when he goes in for his shots.
4. Carl is now at the V.A. hospital. This means that he gets to come home sooner each night... he even got off at 1 today!
5. We found a new toy store we love. They have the greatest toys and were rated the best toys in the city for the last 5 years. I'm excited to get him some toys for his birthday in a few months.
6. I have only been to 2 play groups, but I really enjoy it and Miles and I love hanging out with the other moms. He naps on the way, plays for 2 hours, and naps on the way home! It is great!
7. Miles is 30 weeks old. I remember when I was 30 weeks pregnant, barely believing that I would have a baby in 10 weeks. It feels like just yesterday but also feels like forever ago.
8. Miles has officially developed stranger danger. He isn't a fan of others, unless he is with Carl or me. If we are around, he is curious about others and still likes to be shy around them, but if we are out of the room he cries.
9. We put in a new dresser for a t.v. stand, but we still need to paint it. It is cream now, but I think I want to paint it a light blue.
10. I love that Miles doesn't mind being in his pack-n-play. It is nice that there is a place for him to go and I don't have to worry about his safety. He has just started to grab the edge of the playpin and pull himself up to standing and it is crazy to see him stand up all by himself, looking over the edge at me, biting the sides.

Nesting changes

Well, I think I have finally moved into the "nesting" phase of pregnancy. I have looked at countless baby/pregnancy websites and read about almost everything. I think about babies and even dream about it.

We had Carl's brother and his girlfriend stay here Friday night (which was a bunch of fun. It was really nice to see them both) and after they left on Saturday, I had Carl move our living room around. Now, for those of you who have seen my house, you know that my living room is tiny. It is so small and with all of our furniture I really didn't think that we could have it any other way than it was when we moved in. WELL, my pregnant brain decided that it COULD be moved and should be so we can have more space for the baby stuff that we will have. Well, I think it looks GREAT and it was a shock to wake up to a big change this morning, but I LOVE IT!
See for yourself!
This is the view from the kitchen
The view from the guest bedroom/nursery/office (that's what happens when you live in a small 2 bedroom house... one room has multiple functions)

The view from the front door.
It seems like our living room is twice the size it used to be. Granted, we got rid of a few things (a dvd stand, a side table, and a lamp) but I think that it just looks so different than before... if you haven't been to my house, you can look here and read another blog I did and get an idea of what it used to look like.

Carl was so nice about it too... it was 9:30 at night and I just all of a sudden asked if we could move the living room and he said sure. He cleaned up behind the tv, while I moved the furniture around. We made a great team and finished putting it all together by 11. SO... What do you think of my "new" living room?
