Christmas 2013

This Christmas was full of fun! We had to do our family Christmas a bit early, since Carl had to work on Chriatmas day.
Carl had off 4 days the week before so we did our Christmas on Thursday the 19th. We woke up and played Christmas music, drank some coffee, and opened gifts. Miles got so many great toys and games this year. He was 100% spoiled. It was fantastic. He was so excited to open presents and would ask to open more each day after our Christmas. I think this was the first year he really got into the idea of Christmas.

After presents we made a yummy breakfast and spent the day playing with our new things and relaxing.

We took a BUNCH of pictures on our nice camera, but I'll post the few I took on my phone.

All of our gifts after everything was opened. Miles had the big stack on he left and Carl and I had our presents on the right.

We then got the spend Christmas Eve and Christmasmorning at Carl's dad's house with all the cousins. We had so much fun opening all the gifts, playing, and enjoying the great food and company.

Christmas was so wonderful and we still get another small one when we go visit our moms in a week! I love the holidays and am sad to see them go. It feels like Christmas brings out so many good things and I love giving gifts and spending time with family.

It is crazy to think that this is our last Christmas as a family of 3 and that next year we will have another baby!

Christmas plus

Christmas this year was a blast. I think it was the best Christmas so far. Miles had so much fun opening tons of gifts and playing with family. I think his favorite part was reading with Grandpa and playing with his Uncle and Aunt. It has been really fun seeing him interact with all of our family. He remembers them from Thanksgiving so he wasn't shy at all.

Miles has started doing more and more things that surprise me. My mom has a puzzle that Miles loves. He plays it all the time and now knows where all the pieces go. Even us adults have trouble finding where each piece goes, but Miles can do it so easily.

I'll look over and Miles has done something else surprising. I cut him up some sausage and put it on the table. I looked over and he had climbed up the chair, taken all the pieces, and put them on the coffee table so he could watch Elmo while eating... silly boy.

I think the only bad part of this trip has been the evening we spent in the E.R. Miles got croup for the first time and it was scary! He had been running a fever for about 4 days and started coughing about 2 days after the fever started. I kept an eye on him and gave him Advil at night. He did ok the first night, but the second night he woke up and coughed and coughed and coughed. He coughed so much that he hurt his throat and started crying. Now Miles usually has a loud cry but because of his cough his cry was barely audible. He was gasping for air and making tiny squeek cries. It was really scary. I even tried to nurse him to calm him down but he couldn't nurse because he was trying to breathe and cry. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen.

Anyway, after calming him down we went to the E.R. and got him some medicine and a breathing treatment. We were there for only about 2 hours, came home, and Miles slept really good after that. It was really sad and scary. I hope he never gets croup again! We have never taken Miles to the hospital and we were lucky that because it was Christmas Eve, not many people were there so we were able to get in and out fast. I am really grateful for the people who helped us. When we got there it seemed like Miles was 100% fine... until you made him mad and then he would cough and have trouble breathing again. The doctor was really nice and gave us some great advice and didn't make me feel like I was so stupid for bring my baby in at 1 am.

Well, it seems like that is most of what is going on. Miles is feeling better now (although it took a few days to get over his cough). Carl and I had so much fun watching all of our family open gifts we bought just for them and watching them have fun with our Miles. It is great seeing family and having Miles get to know everyone here.

Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas! There were so many presents given with lots of love. Carl was able to come the week before Christmas and we spent the day with family.

Us after all the Christmas stuff

Aaaa... sweet family

We woke up Christmas morning (Miles slept in until 8:30!) and made some coffee and opened up gifts at my mom's house. Carl and Miles got SO much stuff! I got the cute outfit in the pic above and a beautiful bracelet... Carl got a beautiful jacket, nice shoes, the shirt he has on in the pic above, a few other shirts and so much more I can't even remember. Miles got a rocking horse, jammies, puzzles, and so much more.

We all showered, Miles took a nap, and we went over to Rodney's family's house for a late lunch. We all hung out and ate some yummy food and then we went over to Carl's mom's house ( I know! 3 Christmases in one day). We hung out with all of his family and opened a bunch of gifts... everyone was so generous, especially to Miles.

All in all, we got to see so much family and spend some good time with everyone enjoying Christmas. It was so much fun watching Miles try to open his gifts and seeing everyone open the gifts we got them (that is my favorite part!). Miles' first Christmas was so much fun and such a great day. Miles was so tuckered out by the end that he slept so good that night for us (which was the best gift he could have given me).

Christmas and other baby related items :)

Well, once again I have taken awhile between blogging, but we were out of town visiting family for Christmas :) Right before we left, we were able to get an ultrasound and saw the baby move! It was so cool! We saw him/her just moving arms and legs. It was just an amazing experience. I thought I would share a picture of him/her with you... so here it is (wish I could show you all the pics we had taken, but they aren't uploading for some reason)

Sorry if it is a bit blurry, but it was taken with my phone :)

I am now officially out of my first trimester and feeling GREAT! I don't feel sick anymore (although I am still hungry all the time) and feel like I have a bit more energy! It is so great.... I finally feel so much better!

I also thought I would share some pictures form Christmas that Linley took (THANKS LIN!!)

Wish we had more pics, but we forgot the camera at home! It was a fun vacation and I can't believe it will be the last one without a baby! It blows my mind to think that I am already 13 weeks and everyday I get closer to having a baby! There are so many things I am excited for (feeling the baby move, getting to see if it is a boy or girl, seeing who our baby looks more like, watching him/her sleep and grow up!) It is just so wonderful to think of all the great things that are ahead of us :)
